Call-In Drive for Driver’s Licenses for All

March 5, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Call-in drive to urge Senator Creigh Creigh Deeds and Senator Lynwood Lewis to support driver’s licenses for ALL!

Help us fight for equality on Virginia’s roads! There are 15 states, plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico that allow everyone to get a driver’s license, regardless of their immigration status. We want to see Virginia become the next! Currently 250,000 of our neighbors do not have the legal right to drive – something that is essential to daily life especially to us here in the Shenandoah Valley. We have a chance this year to make Driver’s Licenses for All a reality – the bill has passed the House and many of the Senators support it as well.

State Senator Deeds and Senator Lewis have expressed support for an alternative “driver’s privilege card” instead of driver’s licenses. This would be a separate system set up just for undocumented people. Come join us in making calls to these Senators to let them know we do not want privilege cards – rather driver’s licenses for all!

Light refreshments will be provided.
