Virginia Organizing and community partners are to host a forum on November 14 at 6p.m. at Eastern Shore Community College. The session will focus on how strict zero tolerance policies, including suspensions and expulsions, have a negative impact on youth, sometimes landing them in the criminal justice system. The forum will begin with panelists from the Virginia Department of Education, Legal Aide Justice Center, and a couple of folks from the community. It will then move into small group discussion about how to collaborate to reduce zero tolerance policies.
