Virginia Organizing is very excited to release our 2015 Mid-Year Report, which covers our accomplishments for the first six months of the year! You can find the report by clicking here.
This year, we set up the report to share the highlights of which we’re most proud. It doesn’t cover everything, but you can see we are doing a lot of good organizing around issues that are important to Virginians!
In South Hampton Roads, we’re addressing climate change by getting people to talk more about local flooding and coming up with more solutions. In Fredericksburg, we are pushing back against strict school policies that funnel youth to prisons instead of helping them stay in school and get an education. In Southwest Virginia and the New River Valley, we’re adding community organizers to find out what people want to see changed where they live.
Virginia Organizing cannot do this work without you, our supporters. You make calls, write letters, send in donations, and participate in Chapters.
You work in your community to make it a better place.
Together, we are all changing Virginia.
I hope you enjoy reading about the work Virginia Organizing has done so far this year. Stay tuned—our 20th anniversary year is not over yet! I hope to see you at our big Grassroots Gathering for a time of celebration and taking more action to move toward a more just Virginia.
Sincerely,
Sandra A. Cook
