Health Care Bill Information Fair Outside U.S. District Court House
Richmond, VA – On Thursday, July 1, as Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli attempts to derail federal health care reform legislation inside the U.S. District Court House, supporters of health care reform will line the sidewalk outside the courthouse at 9:30 a.m. for a media conference and information fair highlighting the key benefits of the bill.
Community leaders, doctors, small business owners, seniors and young people will speak out on the need for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Local leaders will address the widespread benefits of the health care reform legislation. Attorney General Cuccinelli has brought national attention to Virginia by being the first state to file a lawsuit against the bill. He claims the health insurance mandate in the bill, to take affect in 2014, is unconstitutional.
Following the media conference, an information fair will be held on Broad Street, helping residents understand what is in the health care bill and how they will benefit. Individual tables will be set up representing key aspects of the health care legislation and the Virginians it will help. Tables will be staffed by local organizations that work with specific constituencies.
