Cassandra Waters joined Virginia Organizing as the Norfolk Chapter organizer in June 2024. Originally born in Portsmouth, she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High school and has also resided in Suffolk. At an early age, she began small volunteering projects and “found [her] passion in helping people.” While living in Suffolk, she has prided herself on being able to engage with the community in different ways, including a background in nursing, home healthcare, and hospice care.
Cassandra started volunteering with Virginia Organizing in 2019 between the Norfolk, Suffolk, and Portsmouth Chapters. She has a long resume of experience with making changes for those in need, as well as providing insight those who lack information. Now, being a part of Virginia Organizing gives her the chance to use all of the tools and skills she has garnered over the years in one place to make a difference. Cassandra says she is “happy to be a part of The Virginia Organizing Team!”
