October was a great month for the Albemarle/Charlottesville Chapter. We held our first interest meeting, attended by 11 community members! We talked about the basics of organizing, got to know each other, and discussed some of the issues we see in the community. We also kept canvassing in Albemarle County and tabling at events like PHAR’s Fall Fests and the One Stop Shop. We’ll be holding a second meeting at the Virginia Organizing office again this Friday, November 22 at 6:30 p.m.
In the next few weeks, we’ll be meeting with our local representatives in the General Assembly, including Senator Creigh Deeds and Delegate Katrina Callsen, to discuss our statewide legislative priorities. Join us for a great opportunity to voice your concerns to our legislators and ask them to support things like affordable housing, restoration of rights, and health care.
