VIRGINIA ORGANIZING RALLIES AT NORTHROP GRUMMAN FOR NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION
What: “Pull the Pork” from defense spending demonstration
When: Wednesday, February 27 at noon
Where: Intersection of Colshire Drive and Dolley Madison Blvd, McLean, Va. (outside the Northrop Grumman building)
McLean, Va. – On Wednesday, February 27, a small group of Virginia Organizing leaders will gather outside of Northrop Grummon in McLean to bring attention to wasteful pentagon spending that goes to pay CEO salaries and not to help our troops.
Virginia Organizing, an affiliate of USAction, will gather as part of the “Pull the Pork” day of action, a time where activists across the country will advocate for decreasing wasteful defense spending instead of cuts to programs for families.
According to USAction, defense contractors have received a 10 percent increase in contracts from 2006 to 2011 and during that same time, have cut jobs by three percent. If the sequestration is not stopped, an estimated one million people will be out of work across the nation.

Virginia Organizing is a non-partisan statewide grassroots organization that brings people together to create a more just Virginia.
