Harrisonburg, Va.—The Harrisonburg Chapter of Virginia Organizing will canvass local neighborhoods to register new voters and educate current voters on the new voter ID laws that take effect July 1, 2014. Canvassers will meet at 1715 Country Club Road, Harrisonburg, VA 22802 at 1 p.m.
“It is important to make sure all people who are eligible to vote in Virginia are registered and understand what they need to vote,” said Harrisonburg Chapter leader Ricardo Cortez. “Voting is a fundamental right in our society. It is an opportunity for every voice to be equally heard. Virginia Organizing wants to make sure that every eligible voter has the chance to raise his or her voice.”
