We have some big, big news: 2015 is Virginia Organizing’s 20th anniversary and we will be celebrating all year long!
We have some things in the works like a 20-year history book of our grassroots organizing in Virginia and a new website that will be live very soon. But today, we want you to mark your calendars, because we’ll be back in Blackstone, Virginia for our 2015 Grassroots Gathering on October 9-11, 2015.
You can RSVP now for this event by emailing Nik Belanger at nik.belanger@virginia-organizing.org. You can also download our save the date flyer here (four print to a sheet—save one for your own refrigerator and please pass the other three along to friends).
More details are coming, and this is one of the anniversary events you don’t want to miss! If you would like to help us recruit sponsors, our 20th Anniversary Program Book ad form is available by clicking here.
We’re also doing great things locally in the next few months that we want to make sure you know about! Here are a few examples:
- In Petersburg, actress, producer, photographer, philanthropist, and community leader Daphne Maxwell Reid (of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) will headline a Virginia Organizing fundraiser on Thursday, November 20! Tickets can be purchased by clicking here or by contacting Fancy Terrell at fancy@virginia-organizing.org.
- Our South Hampton Roads Chapter will continue to “Light the Way” to comprehensive immigration reform by gathering for a vigil every first of the month to call on our nation’s leaders to take action.
- In January, Southside Virginia will kick off the Chapter celebrations for our 20th year! Contact Nik Belanger at nik.belanger@virginia-organizing.org for more information.
