Clio is the Albemarle/Charlottesville Organizer as of June 2024. She joined Virginia Organizing in June of 2023 as the New River Valley Organizer, and after a year of working in the New River Valley, she has returned to her hometown of Charlottesville. Clio is a first-generation college graduate who earned her degree in May of 2023 from the University of Virginia, where she majored in Government with a minor in African American Studies.
Clio has a passion for “undoing the prison industrial complex and working with people who have been the most affected by our criminal justice system,” but she also says, “I really love how multi-issue Virginia Organizing is. I think it’s amazing that we’re working with people from the ground up on the issues that they think are the most important.”
Clio has worked extensively on housing campaigns, including a whole home repair program and proposed housing inspection initiatives.
