On September 2, Virginia Organizing Chairperson Sandra A. Cook appeared on Virginia Delegate Ken Plum’s weekly show, the Virginia Report. You can watch the interview by clicking here.
Sandra told Delegate Plum, “We have real people that we’re working with to make real changes. That’s what Virginia Organizing does and we make sure that their stories are heard.” They spoke about Virginia Organizing’s work on various issues, how concerned citizens can form a chapter, and how Virginia Organizing goes about empowering local people to create change.
In a discussion on helping members shed their fears of speaking to legislators, Delegate Plum said, “I can tell you as a legislator, nothing is more compelling to me than to have an individual talk about a real life circumstance where they represent a need… I find that very persuasive.”
We applaud Delegate Ken Plum for having Sandra Cook on his show to help get the word out about Virginia Organizing. Click here to watch the interview!
