I’m writing to invite you to join me at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville on Friday, April 22, for a special event in support of Virginia Organizing. This group has inspired me for as long as I’ve lived in Virginia, because of all the ways it helps people come together to fight injustice in communities across our state. When Virginia Organizing asked me to help celebrate their 20th anniversary, I gladly agreed.

This is where you come in. We’re planning a special evening on Earth Day,April 22 at 7 p.m., with all proceeds going to support Virginia Organizing. I’ll do some readings, including previews of a novel in progress and two film projects. But most of all I want to have a conversation with a terrific audience (this means you) about art, life, the state we’re in, and the landscape that we call home. I can promise an effervescent evening, and would love for you to be there.
