Eduardo Acevedo | Richmond Area Organizer

Eduardo joined Virginia Organizing as the Richmond Area Chapter organizer in July 2025. As a native of Chesterfield, Eduardo is very familiar with the greater Richmond area, having spent much of his time going back and forth between Chesterfield and Richmond. He attended VCU studying mass communications and digital journalism, at which time he was also a news editor for VCU’s newspaper, The Commonwealth Times. It was during his time at the newspaper that he found a passion for working with the community, which ultimately informed his decision to pursue organizing work. Eduardo has lived in Richmond for 3 years.

In his free time, Eduardo is a “big movie and TV watcher,” and thanks to previously working in hands-on fields, discovered that he loves like painting houses, drywall repair, and carpentry. He also shared that he loves meeting people and building community.

“I’m very much a people person, and one of my main goals is to meet as many people as I can to build a community for myself and the other people in the Richmond community. I know that’s what this job is about.” He continued on to say that he is “excited about working with VO to meet more people, talk to people, and help people change their own lives materially.”
