Harrisonburg, Va.—On Sunday, May 19 at 6 p.m., Virginia Organizing will join the Group of Harrisonburg Hispanic Pastors in a prayer vigil for comprehensive immigration reform at Court Square in Harrisonburg. The prayer vigil is part of a series of events to highlight community support for comprehensive immigration reform.

Those in favor of comprehensive immigration reform believe this is an historic time in our country and an opportunity to make a difference in public policy and the economic future of the U.S.

Byron Pellecer, a Harrisonburg pastor, said, “Millions of immigrant people nationwide support our economy through hard work and family stability. Strong families equal a strong society which results in strong companies, strong economies, and strong cities.”

The Group of Hispanic Pastors and Virginia Organizing are asking U.S. Representative Bob Goodlatte to support comprehensive immigration solutions that include a clear path to citizenship, family reunification plans, and protections for immigrant workers.
