What: Affordable Care Act implementation presentation with Joanne Grossi

Richmond, Va.—Virginia Organizing will host Region III Director of Health and Human Services, Joanne Grossi, to discuss the Affordable Care Act and implementation of the law on Tuesday, August 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center in Richmond.
Virginia Organizing Chairperson, Sandra A. Cook, said, “On the first anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, Ms. Grossi came to Petersburg to celebrate with Virginia Organizing. It’s only fitting that now she’s helping Virginians understand what they need to do in the implementation of the health care law.”
Tonight’s discussion will center on the new Health Insurance Marketplace. Virginia has opted for a federally-facilitated marketplace, which means the Department of Health and Human Services will operate the marketplace in Virginia.
“Virginia Organizing hopes we can get the message out to uninsured Virginians to make sure they know what they are eligible for. Many people will be eligible for reduced-cost health insurance through the exchange,” said Cook.
