Election Day is special to me. It's special because it's the one day where every American should have an equal voice. No one vote counts more than another based on your income, your race, your social status, or any other factor. Every single vote holds the same equal weight. I don't know of any other day of the year when everyone has an equal say in our governance.
There have been attempts to silence certain minority voices, especially in Virginia's history. Today, we have voter ID laws that threaten to disenfranchise thousands of voters, but we will not be silenced! We will vote!
No matter what happens at the polls on Tuesday, you count and your vote counts!
