Liz was born in Boston and attended the University of Rhode Island, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2006, she moved to Halifax, Virginia where she found her passion for health care community outreach in helping disabled clients as a Disability Nurse Consultant. In 2014, she became a health care navigator with Virginia Legal Aid Society, and in 2018, she was promoted to outreach manager. Liz serves as a member of several local committees and in November 2020 was appointed by Governor Ralph Northam to be a member of the Virginia Health Benefit Exchange Committee and has continued service under Governor Glenn Youngkin.

Liz currently resides in Halifax with her husband and two children, and she joined Virginia Organizing as the Halifax Organizer in the summer of 2023.

“I joined Virginia Organizing because I wanted to make a positive impact in my community,” Liz says. “I love that Virginia Organizing focuses on grassroots organizing and social justice. I hope to work on issues like affordable housing and mental health.”
