The Virginia Coastal Protection Act is a piece of state legislation that will not only bring cleaner energy to Virginia, but has the potential to bring much-needed income and jobs to Southwest Virginia and other communities.
As an eighth generation resident of Southwest Virginia, I know how important energy production is to our community. We need jobs and clean energy jobs are waiting to be created. Southwest Virginia is one of many places in our state where clean energy can thrive! Think wind turbines and solar farms producing energy instead of trying to extract coal and natural gas from our property or through pipelines.
Virginia Organizing is proud to support the Virginia Coastal Protection Act and we hope you will too. Please take just five minutes today and contact your Virginia state legislators and tell them, “I am a constituent and I support the Virginia Coastal Protection Act to support new energy jobs in Southwest Virginia and all over the state!”
You can find out who your legislators are and their contact information at http://bit.ly/VaGA.
Thank you for taking action! You can learn more about the bills before the General Assembly from our friends at Chesapeake Climate Action Network by clicking here.
