Registration opens at 9:30 a.m.The theme for this year is the tools you need to be a community activist in Hampton Roads and on the Eastern Shore. Many of us object to the majority in both parties agreeing to fast-track the Mountain Valley Pipeline and add work requirements to SNAP and TANF benefits. Democrats as well as Republicans have pushed to get the MVP built, in spite of the terrible harm it will do to communities in its path and to the planet.Fortunately, Senator Tim Kaine and Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan have added amendments to remove the MVP from the deal.
