On May 12, Virginians stood up against cuts to Social Security benefits, raising the retirement age, turning Medicare over to insurance companies and slashing Medicaid for seniors, children and people with disabilities.
We know that Social Security belongs to us. We know that putting insurance companies in charge of Medicare is crazy. We know that slashing health care for American families is wrong. On May 12 we visited Senator Warner’s Norfolk office to let him know that the Gang of Six should take Social Security and all of our retirement security off the chopping block because, “We Will Not Work ’Til We Die!”
We also gathered to tell Rep. Rigell: “Shame on you for voting to slash Medicaid and for voting to end Medicare as we know it!”
