Virginia needs the Local Jobs for America Act

June 2, 2010 6:15 pm by: Category: Economic Justice A+ / A-

Virginia Organizing Project volunteers have been going door-to-door in Albemarle and Greene counties this summer-talking to residents about the issues they care about. It is no surprise that jobs and unemployment tops everyone's list of concerns. Unemployment, especially in low-income communities and communities of  Color, is higher than we've seen in more than 60 years! The Local Jobs for America Act would put one million people to work immediately, doing essential jobs in local communities all across America. We are calling on Senators Warner and Webb to support this legislation. Check out the video and take action!
