Culpeper, Va.—Virginia Organizing will host a screening and discussion of the immigration documentaryThe Dream is Now on Monday, June 2, at 6 p.m. at El Rincon Hispano (215 S East Street, Culpeper, VA 22701).
Virginia Organizing leader and owner of El Rincon Hispano Hugo Vargas said, “Immigration reform is important to the entire Culpeper community and all Virginians because we need comprehensive reform to protect families.”
Leaders will also call on U.S. Representative and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor to allow a vote on comprehensive immigration reform. Representative Cantor, who represents Culpeper, has consistently blocked any immigration legislation from coming to the House floor for a vote.
Virginia Organizing has been working on immigration reform for years as a means to provide opportunities for individuals and families and promote economic growth. “People will be able to contribute more to our local, state, and national communities if they are given an opportunity for citizenship,” said Vargas.
