Charlottesville, Va.—Virginia Organizing will hold a forum on Medicaid expansion to address the reasons Virginia cannot afford to delay expansion and discuss the upcoming special legislative session on Medicaid expansion. The forum will be held on Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m. at the Charlottesville City Council Chambers.
“Medicaid expansion is critically important for Virginia, both as a moral issue and fiscal issue,” said Virginia Organizing Charlottesville Chapter leader Dell Erwin. “It’s a moral issue because without adequate health care, people die and quality of life is directly affected. It is a fiscal issue because with the recently announced $2.4 billion projected state budget shortfall, Virginia needs the funds from Medicaid expansion more than ever before. Everyone benefits from expansion.”
Virginia Organizing is calling on our state legislators to move forward with Medicaid expansion and put people’s lives over politics.
