Moneta, Va.—Virginia Organizing leaders will deliver a petition with more than 500 signatures in support of Medicaid expansion to Virginia Senator Bill Stanley on Friday at the Senator’s law office, Stanley, Houchens & Griffith—Attorneys At Law, in Moneta.

"Seniors, families, and workers need health insurance,” said Virginia Organizing Danville Chapter leader Renee Stone. “Between rent, groceries, and utilities, most budgets don't leave a lot of room for health costs. I'm so disappointed that Senator Stanley was a roadblock to Medicaid expansion in the state, and I hope he'll do the right thing in the future."

Senator Stanley’s budget amendment prevented Medicaid expansion to about 400,000 Virginians in need of health care coverage and stopped the creation of 30,000 new jobs in the Commonwealth.
