Every year, Virginia Organizing hosts a Grassroots Gathering to bring members and leaders from across the state to meet new people, learn new skills, and have a GREAT time!
This year, Virginia Organizing's annual Grassroots Gathering will be held September 5-7 at the Blackstone Retreat and Conference Center in Blackstone, Virginia. Registration is now open for this event! Participants may choose to attend all or just portions of the event. The gathering will begin Friday night with dinner and end Sunday with lunch.
You can expect to learn about the issues, tactics, and philosophies that make Virginia Organizing a strong grassroots organization and learn how we can grow the organization and build on the work we have done for the past 19 years. It will also be a lot of fun!
You will get to meet terrific community leaders from across the Commonwealth, including some who recently got arrested in Washington, D.C. standing with young people from across the country to support comprehensive immigration reform! You will also have a chance to attend workshops to learn about planning local campaigns, working with the media, and important social justice issues.
So that we can continue to put resources into building more strategic capacity, we ask that participants share in the cost of the Grassroots Gathering. Please pay what you can—less if you can’t afford the full cost, more if you can share in someone else’s cost. For more information on cost sharing, click here to view the registration form.
