Del McWhorter has volunteered with Virginia Organizing for over twenty years, including serving as chairperson for seven. She has worked on campaigns ranging from securing fair unemployment compensation and stopping predatory lending, to Medicaid expansion, to environmental justice, and climate change. Her day job is teaching in the Women’s Gender, and Sexualities Studies and Environmental Studies programs at the University of Richmond, where she holds an endowed chair. Her most recent book is entitled Racism and Sexual Oppression in Anglo-American: A Genealogy.
