Fredericksburg, Va.—The Fredericksburg Chapter of Virginia Organizing will gather on Thursday, April 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Fredericksburg Christian Health Center to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act and call on the Virginia General Assembly to expand Medicaid.
“As a medical assistant, I have seen the difficulty people face without insurance. The Affordable Care Act drastically changed millions of lives for the better,” said Virginia Organizing Fredericksburg Chapter leader Julia Miles. “It’s time for our legislators to make the right decision by Virginia and stop delaying Medicaid expansion.”
Medicaid expansion will save lives, provide access to health care for hundreds of thousands of Virginians, create about 30,000 jobs, and help Virginia’s economy.
The Chapter will hear from those who have been helped by the ACA and write letters to Virginia Speaker of the House of Delegates Bill Howell about the importance of Medicaid expansion.
