Today, Virginia Organizing released a report showing how small business owners and all Virginians are hurting from the delay of passing comprehensive immigration reform legislation. As a small business owner myself, I understand the effect of lost jobs and revenue to our state first hand.

In spite of the overwhelming support for immigration reform, last week the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives announced they would not take up immigration this session.
You know that Virginia Organizing and other groups across the state and across the country have been working on comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship for a long time. This past summer, there was finally some bipartisan movement on this issue. We cannot afford to delay immigration reform any longer and we need to tell the House leadership that this is not acceptable.

If you have time, please also call House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy at 202-225-2915 and Speaker of the House John Boehner at 202-225-0600.
All across Virginia, people like you are stepping up and getting the message out to our leaders in Washington that we need comprehensive immigration reform. The photos included in this email are from actions just over the last month! For more photos, click here to see Virginia Organizing’s Flickr page.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to this important movement. Without people like you, we would not have made it this far.
Sincerely,
Kevin Wilson
