National Tax Fairness Call-in Week

July 17, 2012 2:26 pm by: Category: Budget and Tax Reform A+ / A-

Join us and thousands of other concerned Americans for our National Call Congress Week to make sure that the Bush tax cuts for the richest 2% end.

When you call Congress – remember that you’re calling for the secretary that pays higher income taxes than her CEO, the schoolteacher that pays more taxes than some big corporations, and the millions of Americans that want to see an end to tax breaks for people that don’t need them.

Call the toll free line today and make your voice heard!  (888-744-9958)

Now more than ever it’s important for supporters of tax fairness to rally and stand up for what’s right. The U.S. Senate will vote as early as July 23 about whether to extend the Bush tax cuts. The U.S. House most likely will vote the week after that.

Tell them to support President Barack Obama’s proposal to save $1 trillion by ending the Bush tax cuts for the richest 2% – households making over $250,000 a year.

Remember, people who earn more than $1 million a year get an average tax break of about $143,000 from the Bush tax cuts. People making about $50,000 a year get an average tax break of only about $1,000.

When the rich get tax breaks they don’t need and the country can’t afford — hard-working Americans like you have to make up the difference — and that’s not fair.

Let’s make some calls.
