Randi Carpoe first got involved with Virginia Organizing in August through a work study program for dislocated workers. Since then, Randi has been a faithful volunteer in the Charlottesville office — phone banking, writing thank-you notes to donors, putting together kits on restoration of rights, helping with the Social Justice Bowl fundraiser, and more!
“One of the most amazing things about Virginia Organizing is the gratitude I get from everyone who works here,” Randi says. “I am always made to feel important. Even if it’s folding a flyer or restocking supplies, they are so great at acknowledging the work I do. We are all needed, wanted, and make a difference.”
Randi is especially passionate about jobs and affordable housing. As a dislocated worker, Randi knows firsthand how important job creation is to people’s lives. In addition to her work with Virginia Organizing, Randi volunteers at a women’s shelter, where she sees the real need for affordable housing in Charlottesville.
Randi loves getting to know new leaders and volunteers who come through the Charlottesville office and seeing everything that the organization does across the state.
“In everything we do, we build on each other. None of us are in this alone. Even as a kid, I always had a passion for standing up for the underdog—and that’s what we do at Virginia Organizing!”
Thank you, Randi, for building a more just Virginia!
