What: Public demonstration in support of the Affordable Care Act
When: Tuesday, January 3 at 12 noon
Where: “Virginia Beach Fountain” near Senator Tim Kaine’s office on Central and Main
Virginia Beach, Va.—The South Hampton Roads Chapter of Virginia Organizing will hold a public demonstration in support of the Affordable Care Act and health care for all people on Tuesday, January 3 at 12 noon at the “Virginia Beach Foundation” near Senator Tim Kaine’s office on Central and Main in Virginia Beach.
In addition to a demonstration, community members will share stories about how the Affordable Care Act has improved their lives and benefited their families.
“Because of the Affordable Care Act, I am able to receive health care through my parents coverage as a college student. Opponents have yet to come up with a better plan — or any plan at all,” said Geena Felton, a member of the South Hampton Roads Chapter of Virginia Organizing. “It would be a shame to study nursing and not be able to receive health services for myself.”
Virginia Organizing is calling on Congress to improve on existing health care plans, close the coverage gap, and expand coverage for more people by holding events across the state in the first weeks following the start of the 115th U.S. Congress. Events will be held in Virginia Beach, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, and other locations across the state.

Virginia Organizing is a non-partisan statewide grassroots organization that brings people together to create a more just Virginia.
