Portsmouth, Va. — Virginia Organizing and Veterans For Change will host a nonpartisan candidate forum on Tuesday, October 15 at Trinity Episcopal Church at 6:30 p.m.
This forum will differ from others in Portsmouth in that participants will be able to ask their own questions directly of the candidates. Other forums in Portsmouth have used predetermined questions and did not allow questions from the audience.
All candidates for State Delegate and Portsmouth Clerk of Courts for the 2019 elections have confirmed that they will be present at the forum.
Carl Burden will MC and field questions from the forum attendees.
“We have an unscripted forum, which we believe is important for the people to find out where the candidates stand. They will have an opportunity to ask their potential representatives whatever questions they have about the issues that matter to them,” Burden said.
