Social Justice by the Bowlful
Charlottesville, VA–Virginia Organizing will hold its eighth annual Social Justice Bowl on Friday, November 18, at 6:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Rugby Road. The Social Justice bowl is a community-building event that honors local social justice fighters.
Virginia Organizing encourages local residents to come for a soup and bread supper and walk out the door with their soup bowl. Numerous local potters have donated a variety of different handcrafted bowls for the event. Proceeds go to support Virginia Organizing’s efforts for worker’s rights, holding Wall Street and big banks accountable,living wages, education, health care reform, dismantling racism, LGBT rights, immigrant rights, civic engagement, criminal justice reform and affordable housing.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. They are $25 and are available at the Virginia Organizing office at 703 Concord Avenueor by calling 434-984-4655 x229.
