What: Celebration of Virginia Organizing’s 20th Anniversary
When: Monday, February 23 at 6 p.m.

Wytheville, Va.—Virginia Organizing will celebrate 20 years of grassroots organizing on Monday, February 23 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Wytheville Presbyterian Church. Leaders will gather for a potluck celebration and then attend the Town Council meeting at 7 p.m. where Virginia Organizing will be honored with a proclamation. After the Town Council meeting, a documentary will be shown that highlights the work of grassroots organizers across the U.S.
“I am proud to be a part of Virginia Organizing,” said Wytheville leader Andy Kegley. “I’ve been involved since the beginning and it is exciting to celebrate 20 years and be honored by the Wytheville Town Council. Virginia Organizing gets people active around important issues that matter to their lives and helps develop and empower community members to be leaders and make changes to better the whole community.”
Virginia Organizing is celebrating the 20th anniversary throughout 2015 with special events across the Commonwealth all year.
