Accomac, Va. — The Eastern Shore Chapter of Virginia Organizing will hold a community forum on Thursday, December 5 at 6 p.m. at Mary N. Smith Center (24577 Mary N Smith Rd., Accomac, VA 23301). Chapter leaders and community members will gather to share their personal experiences with unaffordable prescription drugs and learn about legislation at the federal level.

Virginia Organizing supports H.R.3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, as a way to hold drug corporations accountable and make prescription drugs more affordable.

“The cost of medicine is way too high for many in our communities,” said Karen Downing, a leader in the Eastern Shore Chapter. “It’s morally wrong what these companies are doing to people. It’s time for Congress to act!”

Participants will make calls and write letters to Rep. Elaine Luria to encourage her to vote for the bill later this month.
