Hampton, Va. — Virginia Organizing’s Newport News/Hampton Chapter will hold a press conference in front of the Hampton City Council building tomorrow at 5 p.m. They will then attend the council meeting to deliver over 100 postcards from the community in support of funding a shelter for the homeless. This is a continued effort by the community to advocate for housing as a human right.

The chapter has met with the mayor and members of city council who support the need for a shelter on the peninsula. Now the chapter wants to see it put in the budget.
