Wow! We had some amazing turnout at the polls! All across Virginia, voters went to the polls in sunshine and rain. Some woke up early and some stayed in line at their polling place for up to five hours. In Virginia Beach, voters waited in line for hours after the polls closed just to make their voices heard—and we were right there with them!
We heard lots of amazing stories of selfless people donating their time and vehicles to give rides to the polls, encouraging people with disabilities to cast their vote, and going the extra mile to make sure everyone got a chance to exercise a fundamental right in our country.
Now that the election is over, we continue the hard work of self-governance, the heart of our democracy. Helping people to be actively involved is what Virginia Organizing does best.
And now we need your help to continue this important work.
We are in the midst of our fall fundraising drive and hope you will make a donation to Virginia Organizing. Will you join with us and click here to make a tax-deductible donation to Virginia Organizing? We are energized about organizing for a more just Virginia.
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!
We hope you'll join us in fighting for what's best for Virginians and Americans during the Budget Showdown in the lame duck session of Congress when the new officers have been elected but not yet sworn in.
Sincerely,
Sandra A. Cook, Chairperson
