On Tuesday, November 4, millions of Americans will head to their local polling place to cast a ballot in the midterm election. We want to make sure you have all the information you need for your vote to be counted!

Here are some important facts about voting in Virginia:

1. Virginia has an election every single year. This year, every seat of the U.S. House of Representatives is up for election. In addition, Virginia is electing a U.S. Senator. 2. You must have a photo ID to vote in this election. If you don’t have a valid ID, don’t worry! Just go to your registrar and get a voter photo ID to be used on Election Day. Click here for more information from the Virginia Department of Elections about voter photo ID.

3. You can still vote absentee in person by November 1 at your local registrar’s office. Click here for more information from the Virginia Department of Elections about absentee voting.

4. If you have to vote using a provisional ballot because you do not have an ID on you at the time you cast your ballot, you must deliver a copy of your ID to the electoral board by noon on Friday, November 7 for your vote to count.
