Charlottesville, Va.—Ten Thousand Villages Charlottesville is hosting a shopping event to benefit Virginia Organizing on Sunday, December 13 from 1-5 p.m. Virginia Organizing, a non-partisan grassroots organization, will receive a portion of the proceeds from all sales during the event hours.
“Virginia Organizing is thrilled to once again partner with a reputable and responsible company to find ways to support artisans in developing nations while also supporting Virginians who want to be civically active in their local communities,” said Virginia Organizing Chairperson Ladelle McWhorter. “The funds we raise from this event will support grassroots organizing on issues that are important to Virginians.”
The event will draw customers to the fair trade retailer and provide support for grassroots organizing, both of which benefit individuals and communities that have been historically silenced or oppressed.
This is the third year that Virginia Organizing and Ten Thousand Villages Charlottesville have partnered for the event.
